Dana (donations)

The practice of Dana (the Pali word for generosity) is a central part of the Buddhist tradition. Since the Buddha taught over 2700 years ago, the teachings have been offered freely to everyone. Throughout the ages, teachers of the Dharma have been supported by those who have given freely to continue this practice and allow others to benefit. Dana is also the opportunity to practice generosity, a way of sharing and letting go.

Deep River Sangha is part of this tradition. Teachings are offered freely and all support is by donation only. Through the generosity of those who are able and wish to support Deep River Sangha, we are able to cover our expenses and continue to offer the practice on a twice weekly basis, have a scholarship fund to make retreats more accessible, and make a monthly gift to the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation.

To offer Dana we have several options:

  1. Using Paypal, send to DeepRiverSangha@gmail.com (remember to use the option to "Send Money to Friends and Family".

  2. Using Zelle, send to DeepRiverSangha@gmail.com.

  3. When registering for a retreat or Day of Practice, please use Paypal or Zelle and send to DeepRiverSangha@gmail.com to pay.

  4. When you come to one of our practices, you may deposit cash or check donations in the Dana box, near the sign-in book.
